Day 9: What are we sharing?

1 Corinthians 15: Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

Imagine you’ve just received the best news of your life. Maybe it’s hearing you got the job you’ve long prayed for. Or maybe the doctor calls to say, “The cancer is gone.” In that moment, everything changes! You feel lighter, freer, full of joy. Good news has the power to transform how you see life.

However, there’s a difference between good news and the Gospel. Most good news in this world eventually fades. The new job still comes with stress. The healed body will one day still age. But the good news of the gospel never fades, because it deals with our deepest problem, sin, and gives us the message of our eternal hope, salvation in the name of Jesus!

Paul gives us the gospel with life-changing clarity: Jesus died for our sins, He was buried, and He was raised to life again. That is the core of Christianity. The message of salvation offered but Jesus Christ, but it doesn’t end there.

When we believe this gospel and receive salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us. He begins the lifelong process of transformation, shaping us more and more into the likeness of Christ. The gospel is not only the doorway into the kingdom, but it is also the power that carries us forward every day.

  • Christ died for our sins: The cross cancels our guilt and restores us to God because it was the price that had to be paid.

  • He was raised: We are given a brand-new life and eternal hope through the power of the resurrection.

  • The Spirit works in us now: The gospel keeps working, growing us into people who look, think, and live more like Jesus.

Ask yourself today, have I stopped at simply receiving the gospel, or am I allowing the Spirit to transform me daily? Do I see the gospel as only past-tense salvation, or as present-tense power? Am I living as someone marked by resurrection hope?

If the answer is not where you want it to be, then the Holy Spirit is waiting to minister to your heart if you will let Him! Surrender everything that is keeping you from being all that God wants you to be and allow the Holy Spirit to freely have all of you! That’s when the fullness of the Good News will be visible in your life and when God will increase your impact on your friends, families, and workplaces.

The gospel is not just a moment we look back on—it’s a living reality we walk in every day. It is both the foundation of our salvation and the fuel of our transformation. When we truly grasp that Christ died, was buried, and rose again for us, it changes how we live right now. And as the Spirit continues His work in us, we become living testimonies of the good news we’ve received. And that, dear friends, is the Good News that we are called to share with a world who desperately needs good news.
