Faithful is who he is!
When life feels uncertain, it’s easy to wonder if God will come through. But the Bible reminds us that God’s faithfulness is not dependent on circumstances, our performance, or even our faith. Faithfulness isn’t just what God does—it’s who He is.
Deuteronomy 7:9 declares,
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
We see glimpses of His faithfulness in real life:
A mother cries out for her children to be saved; in God’s timing, they come to know the Lord. God is faithful.
An individual pleads with God to help them with depression and anxiety; they are delivered by His mighty hand. God is faithful.
A teen’s life is spared in a horrific car crash. God is faithful.
While these moments powerfully display God’s hand at work, His faithfulness is not just proven by what He does. Faithfulness is not only an action verb—it is also an adjective that describes His very character. He is not faithful because of what He does; He is faithful because that is who He is.
Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 2:13:
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny Himself.”
Even when we struggle to believe, God remains faithful. His nature is unchanging, His promises unshakable, and His love enduring forever.
Reflection Question: Are you trusting God’s faithfulness only when you see results, or are you resting in His unchanging nature no matter what you see?
