God Has a Plan!
Life can feel heavy. There are days when nothing seems to go right—when bills pile up, relationships are strained, health is shaky, or the weight of loss and disappointment feels unbearable. It’s easy to feel stuck and wonder if things will ever get better. But God’s Word gives us a promise that changes everything: He has a plan, and that plan ends in hope.
Revelation 21:1–4 (NLT): Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.
Take a moment to imagine that. A “new heaven and a new earth.” Everything broken about this world—the pain, the injustice, the chaos—is gone. Even the sea, which often symbolizes danger or separation, is gone. And then there’s the “new Jerusalem”—God’s home coming down to be with His people. This isn’t some far-off, abstract idea. This is real. God Himself promises to dwell with us.
And the passage goes on:
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
Think about that. No more tears. No more heartache. No more fear of loss. Whatever you’re carrying today, whatever feels impossible, will be healed and restored. The pain of this life is temporary, but God’s plan is eternal. His plan ends with a future so full of peace, joy, and life that it completely overwhelms anything we experience now.
Here’s why this matters today: Knowing that God’s plan is leading to this hope can give us strength right now. It helps us breathe when life feels suffocating. It reminds us that our struggles aren’t random or meaningless—they are part of a bigger story that God is writing, a story that ends with victory, not defeat.
Even small everyday challenges—stress at work, conflict with a friend, the worry over what tomorrow will bring—can be faced differently when we remember the ending God has planned. We don’t have to carry the weight of today as if it’s forever. God’s plan is bigger than any difficulty we face, and His hope is something we can hold onto every single day.
